Hmm, it's sounding like XVI will be the tipping point that forces me to purchase a PS5.

I’ve never really gotten into FF except for their cameos in Kingdom Hearts and Smash.

I got to the halfway point of XIII today where the Space-Pope turns into some Megatron abomination with upside down angel faces covering it and it was soooo rad. I wishthey used that art directioncfor an actually good game lol.

I'm so happy the pixel remasters finally have a release date! If you buy the bundle for all six do they download as separate games or are they all packed into one?

Add me on switch if you like Xenoblade :)

I forgot the price for each was quite steep. I'll probably start with IV or VI first. Those are probably the best of the bunch yes? No need to buy all at once knowing the total cost and how I'd never finish all of them this year, let alone next.

@NintendoByNature I was thinking of getting those two first as well, especially IV since I have been wanting to play that again for awhile now. I have the first game on my NES Mini and isn't the first one on the NSO.

@Tasuki yea I have the mini too but I don't think it's on NSO. I also have the snes mini and that has one of the FF games on there, but I can't recall which one. I'd probably never play it on there anyway so I'll buy it on switch.

Hi everyone. I've just rebought a switch due to chained echoes and the lack of comparable games on my xbox. Also having lost a bit of timber quite fancy a bit of Ring adventure to keep the motivation!

Reason I'm posting is if you are picking up the FF pixel remasters you should really play chained echoes. The quality of life improvements over the earlier 8 bit / 16 bit games help the genre massively in this day and age. I've since gone back to play ff6 and it is real slow and busy work like healing up is frustrating. God only knows how the 8bit games (which had been surpassed 30 years ago) will stack up.

@Tasuki correct. I wrote that slightly wrong. I played chained echoes on gamepass. Comparable games like 'Live a Live' 'Octopath traveller 2' and 'tactics ogre' don't reside on that system and I quite fancy giving them a go. Chained echoes is great!

There’s several classic Final Fantasy games on sale (~50% off) in the Android and iOS app stores.

The ones on discount, as far as I could tell, are Final Fantasy III (3D), Final Fantasy IV (3D), Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy IX.

Edit: Also Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana

And Final Fantasy Tactics

Well, finished of the Magnet Cave in IV yesterday and despite not being able to use metal weapons or armor, it wasn't as bad as I remember. After that I did the Tower of Zot, got Rosa back and went to the underworld where the game really opens up.

Been playing through V. I'm about a quarter...maybe a third of the way through. I ran into my first real challenge with the boss in the Ronka Ruins. I went in with a full squad of red mages. Mistakes were made.

I suppose I'll go back in with a monk or two to contend with the boss's elemental resistances.

So continued with FF IV yesterday. Went through the Tower of Babel and that took a good amount of time mainly because it's been years since I played the game and I forgot where to go. I finished it eventually and got Edge on my party and just got the underworld airship. Now before tackling the sealed cave and getting the last crystal, I am wondering if maybe I should go to the Land of Summoners first and getting some more summons for Rydia.

Also I have to say, I love being able to up the XP amount and even turning off encounters at times. It just makes the game alot more enjoyable.

Yeah turning encounters off is super helpful for those moments when you found the correct route in the dungeon but want to backtrack to find chests 😅

Not only that but when you are trying to find your way through a Dungeon but keep forgetting which way you come from etc cause you keep getting attacked by enemies every two steps.
