I'll be disappointed if they use the Mario Kart Tour version of old tracks and I didn't like Choco Mountain (one of the best Mario Kart tracks in my opinion) in the trailer... but I already pre-ordered it. Nintendo has ripped me off with this game: Mario Kart 8, paid DLC, Mario Kart 8 DX with fixed battle mode and the already paid DLC, paid DLC... 🤣 I wonder if the next time we'll see Mario Kart Ultimate with every single Mario Kart track now that they have "remastered" many of them. I'd pre-order that as well.

Whilst the NSO offer is tempting, I don’t want limited access DLC so will buy instead.

@FX102A yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have the expansion pack, but I would much rather own the DLC. On the other hand, it’s DLC, you never really own it 👎🏻

@andyg1412 If most of MK8D's current file size (6.9GB) is tracks, then maybe the new 48 tracks will add another 5-7GB.

If you get the dlc through the NSO expansion do you get to keep it after the subscription ends or does the dlc just delete itself or some *****?

Little mistake I noticed while looking at the courses,
Shroom Ridge was originally released on the DS and not the 3DS

48 tracks is a MASSIVE amount of content.

The base game only had 32 tracks.

Can we talk about something equally important, balancing the karts? Every meta driver online is Waluigi with wiggled bike and azure wheels.

Crazy that we're getting new courses for this, and so many as well! I'm intrigued to see what the other ones will be.

Though I'd love more characters too... at least add Pauline and maybe like Birdo or something, it's honestly baffling how inconsistent the rosters are for these spin-off games.

I would've liked to see more added to the battle mode too though, such as more old battle courses, and things like shine runners or something.

@Abweegee nope. You only have access to the DLC if you have an active NSO + Expansion Pack. I rather just buy the DLC separately.

@SteelRain I didn't know that. Can I read about that somewhere?

@SteelRain is that confirmed? The article here suggests it's a one off cost and you'll have access to every wave. I.E. you won't have to pay for a 2nd years subscription to get the waves coming out next year. Not sure where NL got that from or if that's correct. It would be nice to get clarification from an official source.

I have NSO+, yet it is still possible for me to preorder the DLC.

So if I become an online member this year 2022
I get this years downloads, and if I continue to be a member in 2023 I get next years downloads, what happens in 2024 if I don’t renew my online membership can I still play the DLC?

@Franklin yes because if you unsubscribe from the expansion pack you lose it. Buy it outright and it's yours forever!

lot of fun? not at the 1st 8 because i still hate all the other tracks, especially moo moo meadows.
it's cool they add tracks from the tour because really who plays mobile games (especially at home when you have a pc and console)
hoping they add wario stadium n64, but with a glass wall and added lakitu no cheating (taking shortcuts) shortcuts are not fun, back in the day the cpu could never beat players on that track so yeah why play it.. no competition always 1st place is not fun.
ghost valley and bowsers castles are cool to, that mall i don't like, yoshi valley i think we see in the trailer i don't like to, better that n64 track with the giant egg, and luigi raceway.
they should remove the crazy 8 because it's just bad, players can get it if in 2nd place and get a easy win

@TopazLink i like the new tracks, but still online is no option because i have no mood to play the old 2014 tracks again.. played it on wii u and on switch so old and not fun to me.. i rather play on gamecube again or n64

I was so pumped up when they anounce this, only to realize they are taking 2 frikin' years to realese the full dlc. I swear Nintendo makes this on porpuse just to piss me off

They technically have a Mario Kart 9.
Mario Kart World Tour.
So next will be Mario Kart X.
Mortal Kombat 2009 was a reboot but with MK X it makes 2009 still part 9. Thus, World Tour is in fact a Mario Kart 9.

Downloaded, played and thoroughly enjoyed, great set of tracks. Today has been a great day as my copy of TMNT SR arrived finally aswell! Game on! Looking forward to the Cowabunga Collection now and maybe at some point in the future somebody making a Star Wars Collection with NES Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back as well as the SNES versions of SW, ESB AND ROTJ. Maybe one day hopefully??!!
