Summer Game Fest Will Return In 2024 After 'Record-Setting' Year

Record setting I assume because it had not even the vaguest threat of competition from E3 this year (or likely any year to come).

I'm a simple man, I see 'Nicolas Cage' and I click.

I take that "record-setting" bit with a grain of salt but it was an improvement over last year. Which, tbf, is a bit of a low bar...

For Record Setting boredom? Disappointment?

You have an article about Nintendo doing an actual live event in Seattle this summer that you posted today.

I skipped Summer Snooze Fest this year and will be doing the same next year.

I for one am glad that I didn't waste my time on the Summer Game Fest. As expected, nothing spectacular was announced.

Who keeps giving this guy a mic? I've never been wowed by a single show he's put on unfortunately.

For numbers watching sure. In terms of certain big reveals and a well known actor on stage sure (when is The Rock clearly he is recognisable enough to most people according to some sources it'd be the biggest viewing then).

But in terms of what was offered eh. So does numbers matter if what the things shown we found appealing new (or in the case of some already knew about just more trailers for those games) to so forgettable and the showing of games is what is actually important because if we forget most of these then well it's not really worth the messaging is it? Just put an actor on stage and whatever else and have tons of views and whatever ads and sponsors in-between woo......

When I want to care about AAs I will but if they aren't appealing which most the summer game fests aren't the only benefit this show has is those that don't have their own conferences individually which sure works for their businesses not actually selling us players/customers/viewers tuning in to their products. So it falls flat.

The stuff around it made it seem more imo, Xbox's show carried the whole week.
If Geoff is smart he'll try and get Nintendo and Sony to sign up as official partners next time.
